Recommended reading: Our Hearts Were Young and Gay

If Jill ever reads my blog... I would recommend reading the book Our Hearts Were Young and Gay by Cornelia Skinner. It's a very quick read - I got through it this weekend, and I think you'd really enjoy it. It's the travel memoir of two young American women who went on a European vacation in the early 1920's. I read it because of the time period, but I think you'd really enjoy the tone. It is hilarious in a very self-deprecating way and it reminded me of the tone of your first novel, Jill.

    It's been said, and needn't be said again that my absence has not been a result of a lack of interest, or dedication. What I really want to say is that I am very interested in this book you suggest indigo, and will pick it up at my earliest convenience.
