I am scared

With NaNoWriMo around the corner, I am scared that I won't be able to follow through. Life is so hectic right now, and I am worried I won't have the time to devote to it. Part of me knows it will work out all right... last year, I worked so much more efficiently because I was looking forward to an hour of writing at the end of each day. I just have to have faith that it will happen! But it is very strange to be just a week away from NaNoWriMo, with no plot.

What do I have instead?

Pictures of people wearing white belts. Inexplicably, very few of them (actually, none!) contain Zac Efron, so I threw in one inexplicable picture of Zac and Vanessa.

  1. Hahahaha... i love the collection of white belts! Also, I love the inexplicable picture of Zac and Vanessa. It is so much of what we love about bizarre posing- like, why does he look like a vampire about to suck the blood from her neck? Is that really necessary, and even more important... is that somehow romantic? Ugh.
Indigo, you should not be frightened. You WILL follow through, I believe nothing more strongly. I felt the exact same anxiety last year. And incidentally, one week before NaNoWriMo last year, I had nothing. In fact, I didn't start until July 3, and only conceived of the very bare bones of the characters the evening of July 2. I wrote most of my novel with no plot, which as it turns out, is no problem.

  2. When I first saw the Zac and Vanessa picture, I thought, "Why is Indigo posting Twilight pictures?" That, sisters, is just how strong the vampire connotation is.
And Indigo, I have so much faith in you that you will finish your sophomore effort, and possibly be the first to cross the 50,000 word mark just like last year. In our literary debut last July, you were by far the most efficient, dedicated, and hard-working NaNoWriMo team member. I really admired you! You really pushed me to work harder, so as not to fall too much behind you (which I did). You really showed me that you can reach for the stars, and catch one. Haha.
