We start tomorrow!!!

I can't believe it's finally here! NaNoWriMo starts tomorrow! I think I'm in pretty good shape ieas wise. I'm going to just start writing about Jackie's Place and my characters at the boarding house, and see what happens.
I just found my copy of NPNP and read through the first half last night. I love that book because it gets me so excited about the process of NaNoWriMo-ing, and makes me feel like some kind of hero for taking on the challenge. It got me pretty excited again - even more so than before!
But reading the sections on preparation made me realize I haven't thought much about that side of things. Jill got me some awesome pens and notebooks for my birthday, so I'm all set on that end. But I haven't even thought about snacks! And since we just moved - and our house is awesome!!! - we're a little low on the snacks. I guess I'll have to make it a priority for the next grocery shopping trip.
How is everyone else feeling? Excited? Nervous? All my fear is gone right now. I am slightly worried about not having enough time to devote to writing, but I will work it out. Tomorrow, I'm going to work a full day (or maybe a half day, because I'm still putting in time on the house) and then do my first set of writing. My goals are:
1,200 words every weekday (for a total of 6,000 words per week)
Then on one weekend day, 6,000 words more (for a total of 12,000 for week + weekend)
I might try to get caught up early because the last weekend of June is Pride, and I'm not sure exactly what I'll be doing but I may not have a full day to devote to writing. I'm hoping to save at least a few hundred words, maybe 1,000, to write on the last day of June. Is anyone interested in getting together for that and writing our last words together, and celebrating?

Good luck everyone! Can't wait to read everyone's blogs tomorrow to find out about the progress you've made!

  1. I am so excited. I have decided to write about a thousand words at midnight tonight, but I might not be able to continue during the day because I have an exam on Tuesday. But after that it's all NandoWriMo, all the time. I'm going to wear my Liverpool jersey or my Liverpool scarf for writing, and I hope to write 2,000 words per day. Can't wait to update you on Olgando and their adventures!
