Planning our first weekend writing bash!

Time is dragging so slowly. I want our first weekend writing bash to happen RIGHT NOW. I wish I didn't have this damn conference this weekend. But, alas, I do. So, we'll have to wait for the weekend of June 12-14.

It's very exciting and an honor to have you all in Toronto for the first writing extravaganza! Right now, we have a spare room with double bed, and a couch in the basement. We have a camping mattress that is pretty comfortable, too, if someone wants that. Which means, we could theoretically have everyone at our place, so long as you don't mind it's still a little disorganized. But, we wouldn't be offended if some folks want to crash at Jackie's as well. After all, Jackie's Place always has the best music.

So, can you respond to comments... or if need be, send and email (god forbid) to let me know what you're thinking about where to stay, when you'll arrive, when you plan to leave, etc. We're totally broke so we'll need some help with groceries for the weekend, hope you don't mind.

Also, Sammie, if you can advise about when you want to do bridesmaids dresses, and when we should do writing. Same day? Different days?

  1. I think that it would be fun if we all stayed at your place, so we could have a late-night writing sesh with seven maraschino cherries. Am I the only one that thinks that would really get the creative juices flowing?

  2. I have always found that maraschino cherries can turn even the most dull and uninspired prose into iridescent marvels of glittering noveliciousness.

  3. My skin is turning lavender, cold as ice, and hard like a statue just thinking about it!

  4. I will be arriving Saturday after Nate Dogg's soccer game (he finishes at 11:45), and then will be rushing to TO for the bridesmaid dress/writing extravaganza. We should get takeout for dinner and/or just eat snacks. If you all give me a grocery list, I can arrive with a bunch of stuff (including, but not limited to Silver Bullets). I think it would be fun to all stay at indigo's. I will be sans kids (but not sans pants).

  5. I will also be sans pants. It should be noted that this line has contributed significantly to my word count. I was thinking about bridesmaids Saturady afternoon. Was going to call and make an appointment for around 2 or 2:30, if that works for everyone. I would like to arrive in Toronto around noon, maybe 11:30. I will be bringing Scott and Katie Reaume with me. Scott will be attending the baseball game while we are trying on dresses, then meeting us later for some writing!

  6. Let's just make sure Jackie knows about it. Can you check with her, Sammie?
