A title, chapter titles, epigraphs! Plus bonus video

Last night I was too excited to sleep. Inspired about my book. I got up at about 12:30a and wrote all my chapter titles and included an epigraph from a song by a queer-identified artist at the beginning of every chapter.

The new title of my book is...
THE PROMISES THEY HOLD
which is taken from a line in the Indigo Girls song Romeo and Juliet (such a great song, I think I"ll listen to it on repeat for the remaining 11,000 words of my book): "You can pawn the chains of silver, and you can pawn the chains of gold, you know you fall for pretty strangers, and the promises they hold. Well you promised me everything, and then you promised me the thick and thin and now you just turn away and say Romeo, I think I used to have a scene with him."

In doing my research for these chapter titles, I came across this amazing gem of a song by Lindsay Lohan, called Walka not a Talka. It may be worse than any song LFO ever produced, though not as lyrically inventive.

I won't be writing any more of my novel today, trying to give my arms/hands a rest. I'm looking forward to commenting on any blogs that come my way, though.

  1. "I'm a bitch that got a plan". Pure gold, Lindsay. I don't know what kind of research dregged up this stinker from the depths, but I have now disabled the "lindsay lohan" search function on my computer.

So happy to see how much fun you're having with your novel this year.

  3. I am so excited that you brought this song to our attention. I have already written it into my novel.

I'm glad that you didn't write today, you're making us all look bad!

  4. So glad everyone loves LiLo so much! Hahaha Jackie, good work on disabling that search function. Those Lindsay Lohan searches can really fuck up your day if they get out of control.
